When the Ontario government identified Peel as one of the COVID-19 Delta variant hot spots, CCG quickly answered the call for help from public health units in late May. Starting with reaching out to Realstar, who owns Brampton's CAA Centre, CCG asked about offering the space to the Peel Region for a pop-up clinic.

Once the CAA Centre in Brampton was secured and transformed from a 'hockey hub' to a vaccination clinic, CCG donated $10,000 to increase immunizations.

Bringing together resources, expertise and passion, the clinic's goal was to administer as many vaccine doses as possible by June 30, 2021.

In a short 19-days, the Brampton CAA Centre pop-up clinic was a massive support to the Peel community, administering:

  • 46,811 doses overall
  • 5,666 doses on June 12, CAA's biggest day in partnership with Peel Public Health and Grey Bruce Public Health
  • 13,750 first doses
  • 33,061-second doses
