Church Mutual® gains national recognition for communication efforts
July 19, 20213 min readMERRILL, Wis. – Church Mutual Insurance Company, S.I. (a stock insurer),1 recently received 13 national awards for communications around diversity and inclusion, COVID-19 impact on mental health and pandemic-related risk control.
The Insurance Marketing & Communications Association (IMCA) 2021 Showcase Awards recognized Church Mutual with Best of Show in three award categories. The first category, Employee Corporate Multimedia Communication, honored Woven into the Fabric, a video focused on the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. The second category, External Corporate Multimedia Communication, honored COVID-19 Emoji, a light-hearted video reminding employees and customers to care for their mental and emotional health. Both were created in partnership with Upswing Creative Agency. Church Mutual also earned Best of Show, Media/Public Relations, for a COVID-19 Risk Control campaign created in partnership with Padilla, a PR consulting firm based in Minneapolis.
Every year, IMCA strives to recognize the best work in insurance marketing and communications. The Showcase Awards highlight excellence and shine a light on those really making a difference in the industry.

The Telly Awards also honored Church Mutual with 10 awards. The video, Woven into the Fabric, received three gold awards in the Social Video category and two silver awards in the Non-Broadcast category. A talent recruitment video centered on the organization’s values received a silver award in the Non-Broadcast category. The COVID-19 Emoji video received one silver award in the Budget Under $100,000 category and three bronze awards in the Branded Content category.
The Telly Awards annually showcase the best work created within television and across video, for all screens. Winners represent work from some of the most respected corporations, advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers worldwide.
