Biography
Dr. Laswell teaches and conducts research in empathy development, spirituality in health care, interprofessional education, neurology and internal medicine. Her scholarship includes work on pharmacy student empathy for patients receiving hemodialysis, holistic patient care and the pharmacologic management of status epilepticus.
Her recent research examines rapid administration of antiseizure medications and the treatment of status epilepticus in pregnant patients. Earlier work addressed pharmacist-led discharge medication counseling for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and a case of refractory status epilepticus associated with cat-scratch disease.
Dr. Laswell earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University, completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Grandview Medical Center and obtained a teaching certificate from Ohio Northern University's Raabe College of Pharmacy. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.
