Biography
Jeffrey Byrne, a CPA, earned his DBA in accountancy from DePaul University. Prior to joining the faculty at Emory in 2020, he was an assistant professor of accounting at Indiana University’s Southeast Campus. He has presented at the American Accounting Association’s national and regional conferences, won a Faculty Innovation in Business Education Award from the MidAmerican Business Deans Association of the AACSB and provides consulting services through his company, CFO Enterprises LLC. Prior to entering academia, Jeff was CFO for Commonwealth Manufacturing, a worldwide manufacturer of electrical signage for Pizza Hut, KFC and Taco Bell. Later, he and his wife founded Plainview School, which became one of the 25 largest private preschools in the U.S. and was acquired by Bain Capital. His research interests include financial trends in higher education and how international accounting rules impact analyst valuations.
