Robert Mattauch has been given the Microwave Pioneer Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for theoretical and experimental work on the development of Schottky diode technology for scientific applications throughout the millimeter- and submillimeter-wave bands. Mattauch is dean emeritus of Virginia Commonwealth University’s College of Engineering.
