Biography

Trent Rogers, Ph.D., is dean of Cedarville University's School of Biblical and Theological Studies and associate professor of New Testament and Greek. He teaches courses in New Testament and Greek and helps lead the school's undergraduate and graduate programs in biblical and theological studies.

His scholarship focuses on the Pauline Epistles, New Testament Greek and Hellenistic Judaism. He is the author of God and the Idols: Representations of God in 1 Corinthians 8-10 and has published research on New Testament syntax, Matthew's Gospel, biblical interpretation and Christian formation.

Rogers' work connects close reading of biblical texts with questions of theology, worship, discipleship and ministry. At Cedarville, he has contributed to initiatives including the Bible Minor Project and online theological education, while teaching students to interpret Scripture in its original languages and apply it within the life of the church.

Before joining Cedarville University in 2018, Rogers served as pastor for adult ministries at Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville, Ohio. He earned a Ph.D. in New Testament from Loyola University Chicago, an M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a B.A. in Classical Greek from Wabash College.
