The apparent assassination attempt recently on former President Trump – the second in two months – is raising questions about whether the rhetoric against him is going too far, and if politicians need to take steps to cool tensions.


Dr. Meena Bose discussed this with FOX news radio affiliates around the country, including WBAP in Dallas, TX; WHO in Des Moines, IA; WFRK in Florence, SC; KLIF in Dallas, TX; WERC in Birmingham, AL; and WJR in Detroit, MI.



Dr. Bose is professor of political science, executive dean of the Public Policy and Public Service program, and executive director of the Kalikow Center for the Study of the American Presidency.

Nassau County GOP Victories Attributed to Unaffiliated Party Voters

Lawrence Levy, associate vice president and executive dean of the National Center for Suburban Studies, was interviewed by Newsday about GOP victories in Nassau County on Election Day. The reason for the wins was that more voters unaffiliated with a political party leaned Republican. “Whatever the Republicans were selling, the independent voters were buying,” said Levy. “Outside forces that really have nothing to do with the running of the county and who would be running it had a potentially strong impact on the outcome.”

Dr. Meena Bose appeared on WNYW-TV Fox 5 to discuss how the record-breaking turnout for early voting in New York City underscored public engagement in the mayoral race. “There is reporting that suggests total turnout on Election Day could approach 2 million. We haven’t seen numbers like that for a mayoral race in more than 30 years,” she said. Dr. Bose is a Hofstra University professor of political science, executive dean of the Public Policy and Public Service program, and director of the Kalikow Center for the Study of the American Presidency.
