Biography
Huy Huynh (pronounced “Hwee Win”) is an Associate Professor in the Practice of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, where he joined the faculty in 2024. Known to his students as “Prof. Huy,” he is recognized for his engaging and applied teaching style.
Dr. Huynh teaches business analytics, machine learning, and time-series forecasting. His research focuses on analyzing time-series and complex data to build predictive models for real-world strategic decision-making. His teaching philosophy—“Learning by doing, amplified by AI”—guides his approach to making analytics practical, approachable, and directly applicable to practical business challenges.
He also serves as Faculty Co-Lead for the AI Data Lab at Emory’s Center for AI Learning for the Spring 2025 and 2026 terms, supporting the integration of AI into analytics education.
Prior to joining Emory, Dr. Huynh served as an Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Notre Dame. Over his 11 years at Notre Dame, he taught undergraduate and graduate courses across statistics, data science, and business analytics programs and contributed to the university’s first Online M.S. in Data Science program. He received multiple teaching awards, including the 2023 Outstanding Faculty Award for the MSBA program and the 2023 James Dincolo Outstanding Teaching Award in the Department of Information Technology, Analytics, and Operations (ITAO) at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
Dr. Huynh earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Statistics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Outside of his academic work, he enjoys jogging, college football, personal finance podcasts, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
