Biography

Jared Scruggs is a Post-Doctoral Fellow of Organization & Management at Emory University’s Goizueta School. His research broadly addresses justice and equity at work and reflects both societal and organizational influences.

He examines how these elements shape employee attitudes, well-being, and behaviors, using a variety of methodologies including field and online surveys and experiments; archival datasets; natural-language processing (NLP), topic modeling, quantitative text analysis; and various qualitative approaches.

Part of his dissertation on anti-work won the 2023 Academy of Management William H. Newman Award and the OB Division's Most Innovative Student Paper.

Jared received his PhD and M.S. in Management at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also has a B.S. in Psychology and Neuroscience (second major: Portuguese) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to academia, he was an international payroll specialist at CloudPay Solutions.
