Rubric - Visual & Digital Arts Faculty Exhibition
Exhibition Dates: Tuesday, March 10 - Wednesday, April 1, 2015

Rubric is an exhibition featuring new works by the Visual and Digital Arts Faculty at Humber College. Engaging with an experimental structure, each artist has produced a series of four works that address their individual creative concerns relative to notions of process, multiplicity, and narrative. Rubric reflects upon broad systems governing education and production; as faculty members claim their place as problem solvers, students become privy to the ongoing relationship between artist and learner. In the spirit of creative development, viewers are invited to assume the role of faculty and critique the artworks on show. By deconstructing hierarchies between teacher and student, artist and viewer, Rubric opens a dialogue on art education beyond the strictures of traditional systems. 

Participating faculty artists include: Marc Colangelo, Rob Corrado, Stephanie Davidson, Larry Eisenstein, Noni Kaur, Diana Meredith, John Stuart, Cole Swanson, and Kyle Werhle.

Meet Guardian Angel Spirit. Just two months old, Spirit and his mom, Mary just arrived at Best Friends. When Spirit was born, it was obvious right away that something was wrong with his legs. As he grows, his legs won't be able to support his weight and so he has come to Best Friends seeking treatment. Now staff are working against the clock to figure out just how they can help little Spirit.

Dexter the cat is 20 years old, underweight, and a bit rough around the edges from a combination of age and poor nutrition. You might think a toothless old cat this old in failing health would just want to be left alone. But Dexter craves attention. Especially from his two new human brothers: Harry (age 7) and JJ (age 5).
