Ann O'Brien joined the USC faculty in 2009 and currently teaches in the field department of the Virtual Academic Center.
She has worked predominantly with children, adolescents, and families and also with women’s issues. With expertise in trauma and abuse, her clinical work spans an array of settings including UCLA’s Rape Treatment Center, community outpatient mental health clinics and school and group homes. She was the project director for a study on methamphetamine abuse at UCLA’s Integrated Substance Abuse Programs. She currently sits on the board of directors for the Sexual Assault Resource Center in Portland, Ore.
A Yale graduate, O’Brien earned her MSW from the University of Southern California in 2005. In addition, she holds a master’s of science in social research methods from the London School of Economics.
