Biography

Judith Englehart is an adjunct lecturer. With 32 years of experience as executive director of social services organizations, she now utilizes her expertise to train and coach social workers in leadership skills. As an advanced certified executive coach and organizational consultant, she assists new directors in governance skills and seasoned executive directors facing organizational crises.

An executive coach through the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program, Englehart provides coaching to new public service executive directors and seasoned directors exploring organizational restructuring or crises. Her subspecialty is in the field of child welfare, and she is proficient in areas of administration in a broad range of social services, such as family, health care, protective/supportive services for non institutionalized elderly, child support, SNAP/Medicaid/Cash Assistance and employment training.

A licensed independent social worker with supervisory designation in Ohio, Englehart is part of the National Association of Social Worker’s Academy of Certified Social Workers. She was the recipient of the Network for Social Work Management’s national Exemplar 2000 Award. For several years, she served on the board of the Public Children Services Association of Ohio, and her article, “The Marriage Between Theory and Practice,” was published in Public Administration Review.

She has presented at numerous events, including the Child Welfare League of America, the Council on Accreditation’s national conferences and the Public Children Services Association’s state conferences. In addition, she provided opening remarks at Ohio’s second annual Summit on Children; was twice requested by the Ohio governor to speak at his cabinet meetings; and during Ohio’s recession, she provided legislative testimony to the House of Representatives advocating against budget cuts to child protective services.
