MARCIA CUNHA joined in 2012 and currently serves as an adjunct assistant professor. She teaches integrative seminar courses and serves as a field liaison and external field instructor for Master of Social Work students in the school setting.
A licensed clinical social worker with a Pupil Personnel Services credential, Cunha has more than 20 years of experience working with children, youth and families for the Los Angeles Unified School District. An advocate for the professionalism of school social workers, she created and operated a comprehensive training program that provided clinical supervision, professional development and resources for MSWs in the pupil services and attendance branch.
In 2012, she was recognized as School Social Worker of the Year from the California Association of School Social Workers. She also received the Rosalia Munoz Pupil Service and Attendance Award from Friends of School Mental Health in 2005.
