Adjunct Assistant Professor focused on psychiatric and mental health provision for adults, including dual diagnosis and dementia.


MARIA DUGGAN is an adjunct lecturer at the Virtual Academic Center.

A licensed independent clinical social worker, she has performed a variety of clinical work, ranging from emergency psychiatric services to intensive outpatient programming. She currently serves as a clinical social worker for New England Geriatrics, providing psychiatric and mental health consulting for elderly residents in area nursing homes. For 10 years, she taught an online course on elder abuse and neglect for the Simmons College School of Nursing and Health Studies.

She has served on a number of regional Critical Incident Stress Management Teams and has been active in the Red Cross mental health service.
